Round two for RAC Testing

Hello Everyone!

Well here we are back at school!!  The holidays were wonderful and we all needed that much deserved 4 day weekend!! Now back to reality!! Preparing for the second round of RAC testing and going through the curicullum at a thousand miles an hour!  So frustrating because it seems that we have less time to do many of the projects I'm used to doing with my students. :(  School is not as much fun as it used to be!!! (at least for me!! LOL) Well I wish everyone luck and hope you are as determined as I am to make this an awesome year for my students!!!

November! Falling leaves.. Thanksgiving and GASP! parent-teacher conferences!

Ok everyone!!  Here it comes!!!! Parent-teacher conferences are around the corner!!  Students are anxious, parents are ready and the teachers????  Bring it on!!  No matter how much we dread these conferences, ultimately its for the best of the student.  All I can say is hang in there and lets all pray for quick and painless meetings with the parents of our students!  And even though it may not seem like it at the time... they do appreciate their children's teachers!!

Pumpkin Globes are done!

Well finally after testing was done, we were able to get back to work!!  My students finished their pumpkin globes and they turned out great!! We all loved them!! Here are a few pics!!

Loving the Fall Season!

This week we are loving the Fall season in my classroom!  My students are very excited because our classroom is decorated, we are creating globes with our pumpkins (almost done!) and Halloween is just around the corner! Now that RAC is over, we are anxious to get back to working on our Prezi projects.  I just can't wait to see them!  We are also going to have some fun creating spiders and ghosts out of yarn!

Testing Blues

Hello everyone!

It's Wednesday and my students and I are singing the testing blues!!!  RAC had arrived and we are not happy!  My students look at me and ask "why can't we work on our Prezi presentations?? or Can we finish our pumpkin globes??"  I understand how they feel because I feel exactly the same way!!  Well, no matter what it has to get done!  The positive is that my students are loving working with technology and most importantly my "hands-on" learning approach!!! Any one else out there going to through the same thing... Hang in there!!!  :) 

Technology & Bilingual Kids

Hello again!!

We have finished our second week in our MAIT class and I am loving it!  I especially love browsing through all the Web 2.0 tools that are available.  Bilingual students are very visual and using technology in my classroom not only motivates them, but allows them to make the connections they need in order to become English Language Learners.  I've been able to explore Prezi a little more and am going to begin having my students prepare presentations.  I have showed them a little of what they will be creating and the excitement meter in my class has sky rocketed!! I am just as excited as they are!!  Wish us luck!!! :)

Hello!!

I am so excited to be able to create my first blog on my favorite subject!! As a bilingual teacher, I love working with bilingual students!!  They are so much fun!!!  I am excited to be taking a class on integrating technology into my classroom, which I feel will make learning for my students more fun!! Can't wait to get started!! :)
